It s a great historical read on the London Cholera epidemic of 1854, and John Snow s brilliant investigation trying to prove it is the water source that is causing it It paints a wonderful picture of a 2 million person city that has outgrown its sewage system and infrastucture, fascinating read An interesting, graphic account of the last major attacks of cholera in London, based around two bachelor men of diverse approaches to life A paean to epidemiology.
Tends to lose focus in the last few chapters, as the author extends the network metaphor to future history.
Interesting how people looked at the cause of sickness and disease Scary in and of itself.
Traffic in the events to clean up a neighborhood.
I would recommend this book for its history and it s amazing telling.
Very well done.
